Cocktails & Crafting: The Fake News costume

Crafting and Cocktails

This was my Halloween costume this year. I was “Fake News.” All of the content is completely original and written by me. Before starting, as always, I suggest that you make yourself a strong cocktail. Preferably the most ‘Murican one that you can think of. I suggest Jack Daniels with a Bud Lite chaser. Really get in the zone. Aside from that, you’ll need the following materials:

Fake News Halloween Costume
  • Printer

  • Printer Ink

  • Transfer sheets

  • White cotton dress (I’d recommend a second one as a backup in case you make a mistake)

  • Ironing board

  • Iron

Directions:

(Note that these directions are for a MacBook. Windows laptops may differ.)

Step 1. Take a shot of Jack. This provides inspiration. Write the stories in Word. Save as a PDF. Convert to PNG.

Step 2. Open the PNG file. Flip it horizontally so it is a mirror image. Resize to your liking (this will depend on the size of your dress and how many stories you have).

Step 3. Print stories on transfer paper. While the stories are printing, take another shot and chug a Bud Lite.

Step 4. Cut out and lay out the stories on the dress to plan placement.

Step 5. Iron onto the dress. If you make a mistake, blame a politician of your choosing. This is America, nothing is your fault.

Step 6. Let cool. While it is cooling, take another shot and finish another Bud Lite.

Step 7. Put it on and head out to celebrate your freedom of speech.
